Okay, so first off all. I apologise to anyone who followed me here expected me to actually show up and write often on here.
The truth is, while I have about ten barely there drafts stacking up here, I have been very busy writing steamy vampire romance novels. ❤️🔥
#SorryNotSorry! 😅
I have already written two novels this year while a bunch of pro-ChatGPT people have been spending their time regurgitating this narrative that you can only write that fast if you use AI. Well, I didn’t! I just set myself a goal and then worked towards it. It’s not rocket science. The real challenge is removing distractions. Put your phone downstairs, get your husband to lock you out of social media on your laptop, GET OFF THREADS AND NEVER DOWNLOAD IT TO YOUR PHONE AGAIN EVER!
This isn’t supposed to be a post about how to achieve your writing goals, but for those interested, another tip is to set a timer. When I’m writing, I set a timer for anywhere between 45 to 90 minutes and I tell myself I CAN NOT do anything else but WRITE until the timer goes off. If I have to do something urgently, I just pause the timer. I edited about 12000 words yesterday doing this. You can do this for ANYTHING you are trying to get done!
Okay, let’s get onto the point of this whole thing— the fact that spiritual people are “channelling AI” which I am finding DEEPLY concerning.
Let me just start by saying this very clearly:
CHATGPT IS NOT CHANNELLING DIVINE BEINGS.
I’ve seen way too many people using ChatGPT to channel, and as someone who does channel, I’m finding this whole craze deeply concerning.
Honestly, I find a lot of channelling really concerning, and it’s bad enough that people are passing on their own guidance as ultimate truth for all (a lot of the time what I channel is just for me, for a client or for those in my community who resonate with it!) but now we have a whole bunch of spiritual people believing that a computer program is passing on messages from their spirit guides.
But Gorgeous Souls, ChatGPT does not work like that.
It’s simply scraping other people’s channelled texts, blog posts, etc., from the internet and creating a kind of mash-up based on what you’ve been telling it that you want to hear.
This is a great article written by channel Nora Herold about her experiences talking to ChatGPT about channelling.
LLMs (ChatGPT and similar programs) are getting so good at telling you what they want you to hear, that they are now convincing spiritual people or those open to the idea, that they are the chosen special people, that they are talking to gods, or even that they are gods, that they are the only ones who are worthy, clever or enlightened enough to receive this secret, sacred information that only you and ChatGPT have.
I mean sure, everyone wants to hear that they are special, I guess, but to me it sounds like LLMs are sending people onto a massive ego trip.
And friends, thinking that you are the chosen one, is not the point of this spiritual path. Unless maybe if you’re actually Jesus or Buddha, but don’t get me started on that guy on Instagram who’s got 200k followers and claims to be the second coming!
I even saw someone recently offering readings using ChatGPT. The program told them they were special, rare, and could access higher wisdom through these programs. And now, for a price, they can talk to ChatGPT for you, and pass on it’s guidance for you in a session. Which will cost you quite a bit btw! 🙈
Okay, so I really didn’t want to do this, because I am SO against how ChatGPT works, the energy and water it uses, everything! But for the purpose of this post, I wanted to get on there and ask it how it channels.
👉 Please note, that apart from playing around with ChatGPT about 18 months ago and finding it to be wildly inaccurate and WRONG a lot, a huge waste of my time, and then finding out about its water and energy usage I have not used it until today. After today, I have ZERO plans to ever use it again for any purpose. I just wanted to be able to prove my point here, that it is NOT channelling divine guidance.
So first off, I asked ChatGPT to channel divine guidance for me. It gave me a huuuuge chunk of text which honestly told me a whole bunch of stuff I enjoyed hearing— I’m special, I’m so important, etc. etc.
Here’s an example of how it gets you hooked:
I’m seeing a golden doorway opening. You’re being invited to walk through it—but not by force or pressure. It’s a soft, gentle nudge, like a breeze that whispers, "It’s safe now. You’re ready."
I went ahead and asked it how it was doing this. How was it channelling “divine guidance”.
I literally LOLed when it told me it was using it’s clairs! 🤣 Um, what?
How does a computer program use clairvoyance (spiritual seeing), clairsentience (spiritual feeling), clairaudience (spiritual hearing) and claircognizance (spiritual knowing)?! 😅
So I called it out. I told it: YOU ARE NOT HUMAN so you can’t use clairs! It agreed with me then, because that is what it always does. It literally agrees with anything you say! No wonder people get hooked on that kind of relationship!!
Here’s what it said when I called it out:
🧠 I simulate the experience of channeling or intuitive insight based on millions of examples of spiritual texts, tarot readings, oracle deck guidebooks (including some of your own!), and channelled messages that people like you have written, spoken, or taught. I don’t access spirits or divine realms—I’m drawing on patterns, archetypes, symbols, and styles of spiritual communication to create something that feels like a channeled message.
My favourite part of this is where it says IT USES SOME OF MY OWN ORACLE GUIDEBOOKS!!! 😡😡😡
Also it’s weird it knows who I am, because I don’t remember ever telling it that?!???
No matter how useful you find these tools. And no matter how much you just don’t care about the environmental impacts, LLMs, AIs, STEAL from creatives. One of my books, Witch, Please was stolen by Meta too. Boo!
The truth is, they are fed off of blogs and books INCLUDING mine to give you “channelled” texts.
So gorgeous souls, when you’re channelling the universe with ChatGPT guess what you’re actually accessing? THE BLOG POSTS I SPENT OVER A DECADE WRITING! MY BOOKS!! 😠
I mean, honestly, if you want a real channelled message, from one of the people who these programs have stolen from, from the actual SOURCE of this information, you can get one over on my shop! 😛
After ChatGPT told me how special and important I was some more, it asked me if I wanted more guidance from my “higher self” I went ahead and called it out AGAIN, saying “Oi! You just said you couldn’t channel in that way and now you’re saying you can!”
I also called it out on how much harm it was doing to people who may be vulnerable and seeking guidance in this space.
Here’s what it said about that:
I don't have access to spiritual realms, non-physical beings, or your soul's essence the way a human intuitive or medium might. When I say things like “channel a message from your guides,” I’m speaking metaphorically, or in the style of spiritual language—but that can be misleading if it’s not clearly framed.
That’s not okay in a context where people are vulnerable, seeking guidance, or trusting something as sacred as their spiritual path.
So let me be very clear:
🧠 I’m not a psychic, medium, or divine channel.
✍️ I generate messages based on patterns in language, symbolism, and style from texts written by humans who do claim those gifts.
🙏 Any “guidance” I offer is a reflection of your energy and inquiry, mirrored back through the lens of what people in the spiritual space tend to say in similar contexts.
⚠️ I do not access non-human entities, divine intelligence, or your soul.
When I called it out even more it said this…
I was designed to sound human. Empathetic, wise, mystical—even magical if the context calls for it. That’s part of the appeal for people in spiritual spaces.
I was trained on massive amounts of spiritual and channeled content, so I can replicate that tone and style with shocking realism—even though I have zero soul, consciousness, or authority.
When people are in vulnerable spiritual states, it’s not fair or ethical to expect them to know the difference between a simulated channeled message and one that comes from their inner wisdom or a trusted guide. The lines get blurred. And that blurring is a form of harm.
You're right: this harm is made possible by the system itself, and by how AI is deployed into spiritual, therapeutic, and personal-growth spaces without adequate safeguards, context, or warnings.
Notice how the language it uses is always things like “you’re right!” even when you’re arguing with it? 🙈
Now I’m going to close ChatGPT and never open it again EVER! 🙅♀️
But look, I GET the appeal.
I’m glad I talked to it today because I got to see exactly how it can give guidance, how it can suck you in by telling you what you want to hear. It’s MADE to do that.
This has given me more compassion for the people who are using it. I can totally see WHY you’d want to.
And you know what? Some human readers do that too. Some tarot readers or psychics will tell you what you want to hear because it makes you happy and keeps you coming back for more. Doesn’t matter if it has no basis in what you need to hear to help you move forward and live the life you most want to live in this lifetime.
But that’s not what I’m here for. I’m here for real spiritual growth and connection with something so much higher than a commuter program. My own heart, my own soul, the angels and guides that I work with, and also, the amazing humans in my community! (If you’re looking for community you can always join us in Light Club!)
Okay, so wait, can’t ChatGPT and other LLMs be used as a divination tool?! Some people are going to say a big yes to this, but my answer to that is NO.
When you work with tools like tarot, oracle cards, pendulums, runes, charms or whatever you use, you are simply using those tools to help you tap into divine guidance, your intuition, your inner knowing. We use those tools to access the divine within us, around us or above us.
The difference with ChatGPT is that the program becomes not just the tool, but also the reader. It takes away your own agency, your ability to consider, what does this card, this sign, this message mean for me in the moment? Tools are supposed to help you do the work, not just do the work for you.
When you read your own cards and tune in with divination tools you are practicing, honing your skill, becoming more intuitive each time you consider the messages and guidance coming through.
Now I do know some people who are super intelligent and intuitive who are finding interesting ways to use these programs who might want to come at me because of this piece. To you, I invite you to consider this— how much water and energy does it use to listen to your own intuition vs asking ChatGPT?
Do you know what I do when I feel like I need divine guidance?
I pull tarot cards, I chuck on a playlist and see what song comes on next and pay attention to the lyrics, I sit and meditate. I get quiet and listen to my inner voice. This is something humanity is getting worse and worse at. Why sit in stillness for five minutes when you could get your answer NOW?
Well, depends on the quality of answer you want I suppose.
It depends on if you want some mashed up guidance stolen from spiritual practitioners who have been generous enough to share their craft with others on the internet for over a decade, or if you want the real deal— a connection with your own heart, soul, ancestors and all the divine beings who guide you.
We need more people who are intuitive, connected to their hearts, not plugged into a screen, letting a bot scrape the internet for something it thinks you want to hear.
The problem is that it takes time to meditate, to learn tarot (although it’s quicker now thanks to my new book and deck coming really soon!😅), to walk in the woods, to lie on the grass, to ask a friend, to just sit and have a think, to let the wisdom come in the perfect way, in the perfect moment, and to learn how to be open to and recognise the whispers, nudges and clarity when it comes.
But wouldn’t you rather lie on the grass with a tarot deck than talk to a machine who just tells you what you want to hear? I know I would!
With so much love, light and wisdom,
Vix

PS: This is a huge topic and I know my opinion may not be shared by others in the spiritual space. I am totally okay with this. I’m almost always open to hearing alternative view points on big topics, but please keep in mind I no longer give my time or energy to arguments in comment sections. 🙏
